본 연구는 유아 성교육에 대한 유아교사들의 인식과 경험 및 요구가 어떠한지 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 유아 성교육과 연관된 경험, 현재 실시하고 있는 교수-학습 방 법, 그리고 이러한 실행과 요구 간의 차이를 분석적으로 파악하기 위해 설문 조사를 실시하였 다. 설문은 P시 소재 유치원 및 어린이집 담임 유아교사 154명을 대상으로 실시하였다. 연구문 제를 검증하기 위하여 빈도분석과 Borich 요구도, 그리고 The Locus for Focus 모델 검증을 실 시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 유아교사들은 어린 시기부터 유아 성교육이 이루어져야 한다고 인식 하고 있으며, 유아 성교육의 중요한 목적은 성별의 특성 및 차이를 이해하고 존중하는 태도 육 성, 성폭력을 예방하고 이에 대처할 수 있는 방법 배우기, 성에 대한 건전한 태도와 행동 배우 기로 나타났다. 둘째, Borich 요구도와 The Locus for Focus 모델을 적용하여 ‘실행’과 ‘요구’를 분석한 결과 성폭력 예방교육, 성적행동 교육, 생명존중 교육이 유아 성교육의 내용으로 가장 필요다고 교사들이 인식하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 유아 성교육 관련 교사교육을 위한 프로그램의 기초자료로써 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the perceptions, experiences and needs of early childhood teachers regarding sexuality education for children. A survey was conducted on early childhood teachers in kindergartens and daycare centers in P city. A total of 154 data sets were collected and analyzed. To verify the research problem, frequency analysis, ‘Borich needs model analysis’, and ‘The Locus for Focus model’ analyses were conducted. The results are as follows. First, the important purpose of early childhood sexuality education was ‘to foster attitudes to understand and respect gender characteristics and differences’, ‘learn how to prevent and address sexual violence’, and ‘education of appropriate sexual behavior expression’. Second, the early childhood teachers expressed differences between 'execution' and 'demand' for the entire contents of early childhood sexuality education. As a result of the integrated application, analysis of ‘Borich needs model analysis’, and ‘The Locus for Focus model’ analyses, the most necessary contents of early childhood sexuality education are ‘sexual violence prevention education’, ‘education of appropriate sexual behavior expression’, and ‘respect for life’. Consequently, this study confirmed the need to develop diversity in teaching-learning methods as well as multiplicity in the contents for early childhood sexuality education.
